A contest open to all American poets age 50 and older who are U.S. Citizens regardless of where they live or are temporarily
staying throughout the world. The 2009 SPL contest is sponsored by Amy Kitchener's Angels Without Wings Foundation (a non-
profit Literary Society founded by Wanda Sue Parrott on July 31, 2001), administered by Yvonne Nunn, Dean, Cyber-College of
Online Poetry, and judged by the Bardlets of the Cyber-College of Online Poetry and other members of the Meeting The Muse
section of the sponsor's foundation. One National Senior Poet Laureate Award winner will be selected from qualifying laureate-
title winners at state/regional level; these laureate-level poems shall be selected from Honor Scroll nominees chosen by judges in
preliminary rounds. At the judges' discretion, a state or region may be represented by one Honor Scroll winner and one Senior
Poet Laureate winner, or by either one or the other, with a limit of 2 possible awards given per state/region. Entries will be accepted between January 1, 2009 and June 30, 2009. You must have written and own the copyright to each poem you enter.

RULES
There is only one category: POET'S CHOICE. Any form, subject and style of presentation is allowed, but an entry can't exceed
one page; must have a title; single or double spaced; legible type preferably 12 pt. size.
HOW TO ENTER
Submit three hard copies of each poem. Keep originals, as copies will not be returned. (No electronic submissions.)
In Upper Right Margin of one copy: Name, Address, Phone and E-mail; other copies remain blank. All winning entries might be published in GOLDEN WORDS 2009 online anthology unless these words appear above the title or first line of the poem: DO NOT PUBLISH. You must own the Copyright to all work(s) which you submit; submission automatically means you grant one-
time permission for publication of such work(s) and correlated publicity regarding same, with the exception as stated above. You retain all rights. Entries must be on plain 8-1/2 inch x 11 inch white paper, typed or neatly handwritten on one side only. No colored ink, borders, artwork, photos or shaped poetry that cannot be easily scanned for online presentation, please. Ink should be
heavy enough to read easily. Type size should be no smaller than 12 point for ease of reading by the judges, and margins should be standard 1 inch all around in order to allow judges space in which to write comments.
INCLUDE ONE SEPARATE COVER PAGE (not one per poem) containing this information:
- Your LEGAL NAME.
- Your PEN NAME (by which you wish to be identified)
- Your current RESIDENTIAL and E- MAIL addresses
- Your DATE OF BIRTH (month, day and year). Entries lacking this data will be disqualified.
- Your GENDER. Entries lacking this data will be disqualified.
- Current OCCUPATION if employed, or primary line of work if retired. (Indicate whether you are now retired.)
- Anything else you would like to include, such as children, grandchildren, hobbies, awards, publications.
Please do not send books or magazines; however, feel free to send a photo of yourself. If you win, we will use it in the newsletter
and anthology.
TO SUBMIT: Enclose two SASEs with 1 ounce 1st Class postage, one addressed to yourself, one blank, with check payable
to SPL 2009.
