BELOVED GRANDCHILD
(A Rondeau)

God brought a dream to life: I find it's true.
Dear granddaughter with eyes of sparkling blue
so filled with mischief you cannot disguise,
what plan beneath those golden curls now lies
that makes you dance about and laugh and coo?

Such boundless energy the whole day through!
Your aura lights the room in all you do.
I love your clapping hands, your tiny size. . .
God brought a dream to life.

Like morning grass that glistens, bright with dew,
you make me glow with joy; I feel brand new.
How strong the cord of tenderness that ties!
With great contentment, my glad heart now sighs. . .
What happiness I find in loving you!
God brought a dream to life.
