|THE EYES HAVE IT|
Once in church on a pew of birch
awaiting communion drink
a guy smiled from across the aisle
and he looked at me and winked.
My face turned red, I turned my head,
who was this curly haired guy?
I looked again, I saw him grin
and he winked the other eye!
My heart pounded and it sounded
like a run away freight train.
I risked one eye, wanted to cry,
when he winked at me again!
Cupid's arrows, long and narrow
left the quiver for the prize.
The years have past, our love holds fast
and now he winks both eyes!
