SAYING GOOD-BY TO MY SISTER, AGAIN

We laughted and giggled and told funny stories,
but the time just seemed to fly, each day.
It seemed we just couldn't say enough
to make up for what the years had taken away.

Our children were little more than strangers;
they had missed out on so very much.
The games, the toys, the camping trips.
The cousins had never kept in touch.

She had made special friends and so had I,
but not a day passed that I didn't think of her,
and hope and pray she was well and happy,
and that someday we would once again be together.

It was hard to say that final good-by,
knowing how ftagile life can be.
I knew my heart would beat for her each day,
as I watched the jet take her away trom me.
