Winner will be announced in September and published in GOLDEN WORDS
Anthology of winning poems in the
16th Annual National Senior Poets Laureate Poetry Competition which will be published online in September
This is an Honorary Award of Recognition.
Traditionally, financial prizes have never been given as Golden Pen prizes (except special memorial scholarships or other contributions given by the foundation in honor of a Golden Pen Poet) You may nominate as many poets as you wish, but must apply the following rules to each entry
1. Send one copy of a poem by a deceased friend or loved person you would like to nominate for the GOLDEN PEN Award. Please submit only one poem by the individual you are nominating.
2. Include with your submission
A) Name of the deceased poet who wrote the poem
B) Title of the poem
C) His or her relationship to you (father, friend, teacher, etc.) D) A brief biographical sketch about the deceased poet
E) Your reason for selecting the person and/or his/her poem.
3. ENTRY FEE: $5 per poem. Every poem deemed eligible will be published online in the GOLDEN PEN Section and will remain posted during and after the winner(s) announcement. Thus, the GOLDEN PEN offers a showcase of beautiful work by deceased poets who were honored by loved ones who pay tribute in this manner. The $5 will be used to maintain the website.
