Night Incense

I know I smelled it faintly
As I passed by spring's night window.
It wasn't air-freshening honeysuckle
Or last wisps of an evening rose.

The emotion I felt within aroma
Meant it could be no other
Than loving embrace in fragrance form
Of that familiar scent - my mother.
